Krishna Camp at Burning Man 2008: The Visual Proof!
We were there. We got dusty. We rocked the Holy Name. More than just a "once-in-a-lifetime" experience. Here's the visuals...
Advaita Acarya brings the elephants to vivid life for Lord Jagganatha's temple...
Advaita Acarya models his Center Camp piece of devotional art...
Advaita Acarya, The Visual Prof, and Ananda Vidya, enjoying the Burn....

"It's Hard to Dream When You Are Not Awake..."
It was a distinct sensation, something you could take in with all the senses...As we entered into Burning Man, a dust storm swirled around us, driven by 50 mph winds. Everything we did was covered in the gray face of the Black Rock Desert...
It felt like we were crossing the threshold, beyond the end of the world into a Mad Max, heady future of neon lights, pulsing beats, open minds, and naked bodies. We weren't in West Virginia anymore, or NYC, or Florida, but on the Playa.
Practically we could realize that indeed Krsna sometimes sends his devotees to the hellish planets to deliver the Holy Name. Being a variety of seasoned veterans of the material world, we were non-plussed, and we delivered the goods in so many ways.
Of course, being the post-apocalyptic landscape that it was, Internet access was thing of the past. So we apologize for not providing the live updates that were promised.
Words fail at the moment (they will come later), so we'll decompress over the next few days and provide the visual evidence of Krishna Camp's transcendental works at this most diverse of human cultural expressions that was Burning Man 2008.
The first and worst dust storm...
Govinda Ghosh rocks the kitchen...
The "Bandito" (aka Balarama Chandra) mixes a magic potion...
Our Jagganatha Temple begins to rise from the dust!
More pics coming later today! Stay tuned!

Journey To The Burn 08/24/08
Reporting live from Stagecoach, Nevada
We rise with warnings of high-winds, tying down and assembling our last bits of steel resolve and open-hearted excitement for the week ahead.
Last night we celebrated Krsna Janmastami in style at the Reno Buddhist Church in Reno, Nevada. The party truly began as the all-universe Prabhupada Book Distribution team of Ananda Vidya Prabhu, Murti Prabhu, and Advaita Acarya Prabhu arrived, followed by the orange splendor of Caitanya Prabhu and the mad mrdanga beats of Balarama Chandra Prabhu. As they say, the boys are back in town....
After a vibrant outing in downtown Reno doing harinama and giving out old-school pink Isopanisads to peoples of all colors and smiles, we assembled at the Buddhist church for wonderful guitar-kirtan stylings and inspiring katha, and of course, oodles of homemade prasad.
It was a sweet gathering, and we believe everyone got a Prabhupada book.
So, now one journey finishes, and another deeper journey begins, the journey of the Burn. We'll be reporting live from inside Burning Man starting tomorrow. Please stay tuned.
